The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project: From Vision to Action

The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project Event: From Vision to Action, at the Royal Society, London, October 22 2019.

Hosted at the Royal Society, London, UK

22 October 2019

On October 22 2019, The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project hosted From Vision to Action, a special symposium at the Royal Society, London, UK. This prestigious event marked the progress of The Seabed 2030 Project since its launch in 2017, aiming to plot a course for mapping the entirety of the world’s ocean floor by the year 2030.

From Vision to Action brought together ocean scientists, maritime experts, and representatives from international organisations and industry partners, to consider the challenges of seafloor mapping and the benefits to the world of a complete, high-resolution map. It was an opportunity to share ideas, hear from the people leading mapping efforts around the globe, and learn about the collaborative networks underpinning Seabed 2030.
